Matebe Chisiza
Matebe Chisiza is currently the Regional Director for Southern Africa at the African Venture Philanthropy Alliance. She has an extensive background in international afairs, sustainable development, human rights, and strategic leadership. Her professional journey includes roles such as a Researcher at the South African Institute of International Affairs, a Foreign Policy Advisor to the Embassy of Switzerland in Southern Africa and, most recently, a dual position as the Regional Manager of Public-Private Partnerships and Resource Mobilization with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). While at the ICRC she served on the organization’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Advisory Board.
Matebe has also made significant contributions to academic discourse with her published articles and papers, covering topics such as women’s political representation in government, the gender digital divide, youth involvement in public office, elections and multi-stakeholder initiatives.
Educationally, Matebe holds a Bachelor of Political Science Degree from Jacksonville University (2014) and a Master of Arts in International Relations from the University of the Witwatersrand (2018). She has a passion for impact investment, technology, gender equality and sustainable development in Africa.
Beyond her professional commitments, she finds joy in travel and indulging in diverse cuisines.
