Sophie Mahlogonolo Masipa
Sophie Mahlogonolo Masipa is an entrepreneur, marketing and communications specialist and speaker. Founder and CEO of Kgommuu International. Sophie serves on the World Oceans Council driving this ocean industry leadership alliance’s outreach to Southern and East Africa as well as the Working Group for Coastal Adaptation and Port Resilience. Sophie has also occupied various brand and marketing positions as Head of Communications and Media Relations at the Mo Ibrahim Foundation, Brand South Africa Unilever, Colgate-Palmolive and Nedbank. In 2018, Sophie was named one of the Top 100 Most Influential People of African Descent Under 40 in the Diaspora under the Governance and Politics Category. In 2019, she was named a CransMontana Fellow. In 2020 and 2021, Sophie served on Africa Union AfroChampions Committee organizing the activities for the AFCTA Inaugural Africa Integration Day. In 2020, served on the constitution drafting team of the newly launched Africa Business Council. In 2021, she served as one of the 2021 Cohort Mentors for Ocean Hub Africa’s acceleration program. Sophie sits on the Advisory Board of Africa Communications Week and former Chairperson of Saldehco. She is a member of AfroChampions Initiative.
