Fatuma Mang’ena is the Co-founder and CTO of Healthy Seaweed Company Limited, a Tanzanian social enterprise transforming blue food value chains through nutritious food products that strengthen coastal livelihoods.

With a background in food science and as a self-taught entrepreneur, she has developed 13 products now distributed across 88 outlets in Tanzania and exported to the UK, Kenya, the USA, and South Africa. Fatuma is passionate about the blue economy, food innovation, and empowering coastal communities through value addition.

Her work focuses on transforming seaweed from a raw commodity into accessible, high-value foods that improve health and create economic opportunities for the 380+ farmers, predominantly women, that Healthy Seaweed works with along Tanzania’s coastline.
