Thomas Mani, PhD is the lead River Field Scientist at TOC Research department. He is an Environmental Scientist with eight years of plastic litter investigation experience in riverine and marine habitats. He has designed and conducted numerous research projects on major densely populated rivers but also in remote and hostile environments such as Antarctica. He is author of various peer-reviewed publications on riverine and marine plastic waste tracing, sample extraction methods, seasonality of plastic litter occurrence, and longitudinal profiling of riverine plastic waste occurrence. Thomas Mani holds an M.Sc. in Sustainable Development and a PhD in Environmental Science. He joined The Ocean Cleanup in 2020.
